Prof. Dr. Felix Höffler

Since summer 2007 Prof. Höffler is the head of the department Management Control & Regulatory Economics of the Otto Beisheim School of Management
He has gained his professional experience in science, management consulting and the industry
He worked for two years as Senior Research Fellow at the Max-Planck-Institut investigating the effects of the (de-) regulation of network based industries (Power, Gas, Water, Telecommunications & Railways)
Felix combines professional experience in consulting and industry, with particular focus on strategy development, business planning, legal & regulatory affairs. He gathered his experience as assistant in the German Monopoly Commission, as consultant for Arthur D. Little and as Senior Manager Corporate Strategy at Deutsche Telekom AG.
In addition to his scientific assignments Prof. Höffler is a regular expert and project manager for TEAM CONSULT
In the past Prof. Höffler has worked on a number of issues:
- Gas strategy for an international energy and utility company
- TEAM CONSULT Multi-Client-Study on current developments (Market structures, regulation/legislation, taxation, prices) of the German gas market
- Assessment of the future demand for storage of natural gas in northwestern Europe
- Expert witness for a EU member government in selecting an operator for powerclearing & settlement
- Consultant for the BUNDESNETZAGENTUR (German regulator) in regulatory issues
- Strategic planning fixed line business of a leading global telecomunications company
- Development of Corporate Strategy and implementation in balanced scorecard for a large independent German regional multi utility
- Evaluation of investment strategy for gas storages for a leading European gas supplier
- Long-term forecast for the availability of flexibility services for specific gas qualities and recommendation regarding make-or-buy of flexibility services for a large regional utility in Western Germany
Prof. Höffler is constantly publishing applied research in leading journals for regulatory issues infrastructure based businesses (energy, telecommunications, railways, etc.)
