Sybe is an industry expert, who has been involved in the international oil and gas business for more than 37 years and has worked in Turkey, the Philippines, the UK, the Netherlands, Germany, Mauritius, Barbados and China.
Sybe has gained Top-Management experience and in-depth market insights in his various positions at Shell, Gasunie and RWE amongst others as exports director Gasunie and Manager of the overall commercial gasbusiness of RWE
During his career in the industry, he worked inter alia on/as
- a buyer and a seller for gas incl. 6 years as GasUnie Export Director
- Gas market structures
- Valuing and assessing value chains and its components
- Energy policies
- Competitiveness, economics and financing of gas projects
- Gas contract negotiations (incl. price reviews and arbitration) in the 70`ies and during the last 15 years
- Partnering and Mergers & Acquisition activities
- Strategy development and project initiation
- Cooperation with governments and industry partners
- Management of downstream oil as well as gas companies
- Support for several arbitration cases
Sybe has joined TEAM CONSULT in March 2006 and since then he has worked on various national and international assignments
- Project leader of TEAM CONSULT's Multi-Client-Studys "Finally on the move" – German Gas Market Survey 2006 and "The Heat is on!" – German Gas Market Survey 2009
- Support of a major pacific-basin based gas company in development of gas supply contracts with leading international gas exporters
- Support on redefinition of gas procurement strategy of a major German municipal utility (enforced through abolition of long-term supply contracts by Federal Cartel Office)
- Evaluation of investment strategy for gas storages for a leading German regional utility
- Advisory services about developments in the L-Gas market for an integrated Nordic oil, gas and power utility
- Evaluation of investment strategy for gas storages for a large regional transport company
- Expertise on new gas supply options and contract structures for a large municipial utility in northern Germany
